Community Out Reach & Partnerships

Throughout the years, we have learned that partnerships within the community are vital to our program and mission at Girls Incorporated of JC/WC. Some of the organizations that we have formed working relationships with include the Johnson City School System, the Johnson City Housing Authority, America’s Promise, Alliance for Business and Training, and the Johnson City Parks and Recreation. Through these partnerships we have been able to offer on-the-job training to young women in the community, we have assisted in recruiting girls for athletic events such as basketball, softball, and soccer, and we have been able to teach a number of classes to children in the city and county school systems.

Our most recent partnerships have been with University School and Southside Elementary School. We currently oversee the University School after-school care program, known as JAM. We also assist Southside Elementary School with their after-school program, and teach classes in the program such as Pass the Peas, Please! and My Girlfriend Zelda.
